Some say the kitchen is the heart of the home. Among them, Mercearia Maravilha (@merceariamaravilha), a São Paulo-based retailer that highlights the rich culinary traditions and flavors of Brazil through artisan offerings for the kitchen and beyond. As Mercearia Maravilha established their Pinterest presence, they set out to make their content as shoppable as possible. And turns out, the process was even easier for them than they expected.
Mercearia Maravilha had a catalog full of high quality, attention-grabbing imagery. They knew that shoppers come to Pinterest to find new info about products and brands—and spend 2x more per month than people on other platforms.2,3 And they hoped that by bringing their catalog to Pinterest, they could reach more people who were not only ready to admire, but to click and shop as well.
Mercearia Maravilha was using the third-party e-commerce platform Shopify to manage their website catalog. They also had a Pinterest business account, which meant they could connect their online store directly to their Pinterest account. In September 2024, the brand used the Shopify integration, which automatically generated product Pins for each item in their Shopify catalog. It also enabled them to claim their website on Pinterest, track conversions and made sure that any new products would be brought to Mercearia Maravilha’s Pinterest, as well.
Once Mercearia Maravilha’s products were on Pinterest, the brand made sure they were easy to find. They curated the product Pins into boards by categories like "Mesa Posta Divertida" (fun table setting). This not only added context to the Pins and made it easier for users to search and sort through them, but also offered inspiration for unique ways for users to engage with the products.
Pinterest’s shopping-ready audience ate up Mercearia Maravilha’s products both on- and off- platform. In the two months following catalog upload, Mercearia Maravilha grew their total audience by 305% and drove 850% more outbound clicks. Plus, those who clicked took action driving 160% additional revenue from Pinterest and a 443% increase in average order value.
