Shoppable content formats

What is it: Pins, but make them shoppable. It’s the Pinterest content format that you know and love—Pins—but optimised with product tag links.

Why: To reach audiences who are at the early stage of their shopping journey. Pins with inspirational content are ideal for people who are looking to get inspired or are starting to plan.

How: Create content by applying your brand lens to relevant topics (examples: how-tos, expert tips, trend round-ups, inspirational photos or videos). Then in your Pin info page, select ‘Tag products’. Add products by searching for a product name or using a link. Product tags will help your audience to go directly from inspiration to shopping on your site.

What is it: A Pin that features a product and links directly to a merchant’s shop. These Pins include helpful shopping-related information such as price, availability, product details and image.

Why: To provide audiences who are looking to shop with direct links to purchase from your site.

How: There are two ways to create product Pins.
1. Upload your catalogue.
2. Integrate product rich Pin data to your site.

Please see the Merchant Guidelines to make sure that you meet the criteria.

Pinterest Analytics provide key metrics to help you understand how your audience is engaging and interacting with your content. Be sure to dig into your analytics overview for a look at your overall presence on Pinterest. With Pin stats, you can see how your Pins are performing. Use the insights to help improve, diversify and generate more inspiring ideas for your audience, based on what’s resonating.

Everything about a Pin—title, image and even the board it’s saved to—gives Pinterest signals about how and where to surface that Pin. Aim to include descriptive keywords in your text (title and description fields, and as text overlay), select a visually compelling image/cover image, and add your Pin to a relevant board, which can help your content to get discovered by more people.
