Millions of people turn to Pinterest for educational content every month, with teachers using the platform for classroom inspiration and lesson planning.
Pinterest created the Educator’s Fund to connect with and support the growth of education-focused content creators. The program aims to empower educators by offering Pinterest best practices and knowledge to help them reach wider audiences and continue making a positive impact both in and out of the classroom.
Educational content best practices
Content optimization
Create what you want to see
Share your great classroom creations as Pins. If you’re inspired, other teachers will be, too. And make your content easy to find by adding clear titles, detailed descriptions and relevant tags so other educators can benefit from your ideas.
Discoverability
Save what inspires you
Pin or save content that resonates with you. The more you save, the more Pinterest will customize your recommendations to fit your teaching style and needs, helping you discover even more relevant resources for your classroom.
Organization
Curate your ideas
Group your Pins on themed boards with clear titles and sections, making it simple to find, sort, and share your classroom resources. Use the “Find more ideas” feature to discover additional content that fits your needs.
Visual quality
Show and tell
Create Pins with clear, high-quality visuals and engaging text to inspire educators, and use vertical formats for the best mobile experience.
Shareability
Share with the class
You’re creating and curating new things all the time: lesson plans, resources, seasonal classroom decor inspo. And so are other teachers on Pinterest. Make sure to share all through the year to help your content reach people looking for ideas like yours.
More inspo for teachers and students
In partnership with the Inspired Internet Pledge (IIP), Pinterest has created a (Me)dia Mindfulness board to help youth and adults navigate the noise of today’s digital world and cultivate an intentional internet experience that inspires and empowers. Here, you’ll find tools and resources that equip both youth and adults with a comprehensive understanding of how to find what they need, evaluate information with confidence and take meaningful action to support their own digital wellbeing.
Pinterest has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) to create “Decompression Zones” at Clubs around the country. These zones are calming, sensory-friendly spaces designed to help youth manage transitions and develop self regulation skills.
BGCA is also engaging educators, youth workers and more to share how similar spaces can be created in and out of the classroom. Pinterest boards offer hands-on tips and inspiration.
