Being a creator isn’t one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it’s all things in one. Mariona Roma (@MarionaRoma), a Gen Z fashion, beauty and DIY art creator, has been capturing people’s attention with her unique approach and passion for distinctive art, fashion, travel and filmmaking. An engineer by training, the Barcelona-based creator’s originality helped her cultivate a loyal community and hundreds of followers across TikTok and Instagram. And she was looking for an easy way to use her success on other platforms to help grow her Pinterest presence essentially from scratch.
While she had toyed with Pinterest briefly in the past, Mariona was searching for a way to get her profile up and running as quickly and simply as possible. She hoped that by claiming her Instagram account, she could easily expand to Pinterest, reach and grow a new audience and drive people back to her existing accounts on other platforms.
In June 2024, Mariona used Pinterest's Instagram account claiming feature to connect the accounts. She opted to upload her previous 90 days of content as well, seamlessly repurposing her recent existing content and filling her Pinterest profile with fresh content. Plus, she enabled auto-publish to ensure that all her Instagram content would be cross-posted to Pinterest moving forward. As Mariona continued creating content, she kept all audiences in mind, leaning into Pinterest-friendly aesthetics so the content she shared to Instagram would feel at home on both platforms.
Once her content had been turned into hundreds of new Pins, Mariona curated her content into thematic boards. This made her Pins organized and easy to sort through, and added additional context to help them appear in searches across Pinterest.
Once her content was curated, Mariona turned to the board sharing feature to instantly transform one of her boards into an engaging video montage featuring the Pins within that board. Then, she shared the video with her many followers on her Instagram and TikTok accounts to increase awareness of her Pinterest presence.
After claiming her Instagram account and sharing with her existing audiences, Mariona’s impressions and engagements skyrocketed. She shared 1.4k% more Pins to her Pinterest profile from June to December, compared to the first five months of 2024. And the addition of these new image Pins drove a 154k% increase in impressions, 1.3m% more saves and 32k% more outbound clicks.
“Since I discovered Pinterest, it has become one of my favorite platforms,” Mariona said. “The diversity of themes and styles allows me to learn and experiment with different trends, which enriches my daily life.”
