Content optimization

Create what you want to see

Share your great classroom creations as Pins. If you’re inspired, other teachers will be, too. And make your content easy to find by adding clear titles, detailed descriptions and relevant tags so other educators can benefit from your ideas.

Content optimization tips

What to create: Make a Pin to share your latest creation. If you’re inspired, other teachers will be, too. Aim for actionable, engaging and relevant content. Think:

  • A cool new art project you came up with

  • Created a vocab worksheet that’s a work of art

  • A new desk arrangement that actually works for your students

How to create: The flexible Pin format allows you to use multiple videos, images or a mix of both. Tips and finishing touches:

  • Add a title and description to your Pins, list ingredients or instructions

  • Tag any relevant topics

Discoverability

Save what inspires you

Pin or save content that resonates with you. The more you save, the more Pinterest will customize your recommendations to fit your teaching style and needs, helping you discover even more relevant resources for your classroom.

Discoverability tips

Pinning or saving content on Pinterest helps the platform better understand what you’re looking for. By saving content that speaks to you, you’ll start to tailor the results you see in your feed.

Not sure where to start? Consider saving content that could help inspire:

  • Upcoming lesson plans

  • Seasonal classroom decor

  • Adaptation or customization

  • New projects

  • Support and motivation—for both you and your students!

The more specific you get, the better and more tailored your recommendations will be.

Organization

Curate your ideas

Group your Pins on themed boards with clear titles and sections, making it simple to find, sort, and share your classroom resources. Use the “Find more ideas” feature to discover additional content that fits your needs.

Curate your ideas

Make it easy to sort through your content. Save your Pins—the ones you’ve pinned and created—to a board.

  • Choose a theme, a season or a type of content to group together, then organize it by moving Pins around to change the order

  • Create board sections to categorize even further

  • Make sure your board title and description are specific and focused so that people can easily find and explore your ideas

Pro tip: Click “Find more ideas” to get suggestions for more Pins that could be a great fit.

Visual quality

Show and tell

Create Pins with clear, high-quality visuals and engaging text to inspire educators, and use vertical formats for the best mobile experience.

Visual quality tips

The best-performing content combines great ideas with great visuals. Keep your Pins:

  • Clear: People should be able to quickly and easily tell what they're looking at when they see your Pin in their feed

  • Well-lit: Give your ideas the (literal) spotlight they deserve

  • High-res: Minimum requirements include images/videos at least 200x200 pixels

  • Optimized for Pinterest: Videos should be between 4 seconds and 5 minutes

  • Visually engaging: Use stylized effects and/or text to help what you create reach and inspire your fellow educators

PS: Most people who encounter your Pins are on their mobile device, so it’s best to create vertical content with that in mind.
