Brazilian marketplace Boobam (@boobam) helps with just that by directly connecting independent designers and artisans with their ideal audiences of enthusiasts and shoppers. Boobam had built a Pinterest presence by featuring aesthetic images of beautifully designed furniture, home goods and décor products. They knew that with a few simple tweaks, their content had the potential to reach even more people on Pinterest.
Boobam had already uploaded their catalogue on Pinterest and wanted to make their content more engaging. They hoped that by optimising the info on their product Pins, they could increase engagement with their existing and new audiences, and drive traffic back to their site.
In mid-2024, Boobam began enhancing their product Pins with extensive details about each item. They added titles with information such as the designer or artist’s name, and keyword-rich descriptions about each product. They also started regularly refreshing their catalogue to include their newest items and most up-to-date info. These daily updates gave the products added context that helped Pinterest to surface them to people with related interests. People on Pinterest could also easily access everything that they needed to make purchasing decisions, including accurate information about product details, pricing and availability.
Once Boobam’s catalogue was updated and ready for people to browse, the brand curated the products into boards organised by room, design style and artist. They also used Pinterest trends to help take advantage of timely trends and seasonal moments. When Boobam checked the Pinterest Trends tool and saw that searches for the term ‘sustainable house’ had spiked, they created a sustainable design board and filled it with product Pins that fit the theme. Plus, they used some popular trends to curate a gift guide board ahead of the festive shopping season.
Finally, to ensure an additional supply of fresh content, Boobam claimed their Instagram account. This allowed the brand to seamlessly supplement their products with inspiring content repurposed from Instagram.
Between July and November 2024, Boobam saw impressive growth driven by their catalogue upload optimisations. Their total audience grew by 203%, with a 147% increase in engaged audience size. And that larger, more engaged audience translated into action for Boobam, with a 99% increase in saves and a 129% lift in outbound clicks.
