Galeries Lafayette (@galerieslafayette), the iconic French department store, has long been a destination for shoppers from around the world. Offering everything from gourmet food and home décor to high fashion and beauty products, the trendsetting marketplace wanted to reach their global audience in new and engaging ways. So this year, they turned to Pinterest to inspire—and get inspired.
Galeries Lafayette has an expansive catalog of products. By bringing this to Pinterest and optimizing both Pins and boards to align with Pinterest trends, they aimed to engage and grow their audience.
In December 2024, Galeries Lafayette brought their existing product catalog, full of aesthetic product shots and lifestyle images, to Pinterest. By uploading their catalog, the marketplace instantly transformed their items into hundreds of easily discoverable Pins that help people on Pinterest to go from discovering to shopping in one click.
Following the release of the 2025 Pinterest Predicts trend report, Galeries Lafayette saw an opportunity to creatively support their product Pins with additional inspiration. They created a custom template and used this to highlight existing products that felt like natural fits for the respective trends, and included links driving back to the product pages on their website. For even more inspiration, Galeries Lafayette created seasonal Pins and Pins based on other Pinterest trends to appear in the feeds of people looking for a broad range of timely content. They also optimized their content for search, incorporating “Pinterest Predicts,” where relevant, and the name of the trend into the Pin title and description and on the image. This helped their Pins appear in searches focused specifically on Pinterest Predicts, and those that included these already trending terms
To add additional context, Galeries Lafayette curated their content into boards. They created trend-based and seasonal boards to give their Pins additional context and make them easier to sort through. Galeries Lafayette also organized their Predicts-inspired content into four boards across key sectors for their business—food, fashion, beauty and home—each built around a 2025 trend. They included the name of the theme and “Pinterest Predicts” in the board description, with a brief explanation of the trend and how their products could help it come to life.
In the month after uploading their catalog to Pinterest, with an added boost from trending content, Galeries Lafayette saw remarkable organic growth across the board. Their total audience size grew by 283% and their engaged audience increased by 512%. The new strategy also drove traffic, with a 314% more outbound clicks from product Pins, and an 851% increase in overall clicks from both product and inspo content combined. The strong keywords and contextual imagery helped drive especially strong performance, with top performers reaching click through rates 14 times higher than average for the account.
