It’s showtime for Pinterest boards. When you create a board, a curated collection of Pins, it’s a source of inspiration, engagement and connection for people on Pinterest.
Starting today, you’ll also have an easy, exciting way to share boards with your audience outside of Pinterest. Board sharing is a new feature that transforms your board into a visually compelling video montage or photo that’s seamlessly created using the Pins within your board. Whether your board covers style inspo, event vibes or other creative projects, your board-turned-video showcases your curated ideas and your aesthetic, all packaged and ready to hype up to your friends, fans and followers on social platforms, like Instagram, TikTok and more.
Simply put, board sharing lets your existing board content work harder for you. With the opportunity to share your boards in a new, visual way that reaches a broader audience, you have more chances to build and deepen your connection all-around. You can further establish your presence and foster engagement beyond Pinterest, as well as drive traffic back to your Pinterest board.
And to leverage the work you already put into your boards, the new feature allows you to amplify your existing board content, easily and efficiently. We know that creators, publishers and brands love to share their boards. So we’ve got you covered with a less manual, more auto-generated and creative way to promote them.
There are two options for creating and sharing your board content, based on the platform you’re sharing it to: “Add to story” and “Download.
Sharing option: “Add to story”

6. Within your Story screen that opens, add your board link using the “link” sticker. Then press “Share.”

What it means: Downloading saves the board video or image to your camera roll, so that it’s at-the-ready to share on your platform of choice.
Step by step:
1. Select your board and tap on the share icon.
2. See an auto-generated video or image of your board. Optional: Edit the featured Pins or change the template, if desired.

To edit the template: Click on the edit/pencil icon. Swipe right to view additional template options. Templates include: Video montage of full-size images, image featuring a photo grid and video featuring a photo grid.
Press “Done” to select the featured template.
3. Tap on “Download.”
4. Share on any platform by uploading from your camera roll, and add your board link.
Please note that board sharing is only accessible in-app on mobile devices and available for boards with at least five Pins that have the public setting selected. If you have a private “secret” board that you want to share with this feature, you’ll need to change that board’s setting to public first.
Board sharing is a go-to feature for putting the spotlight on your board content around a specific theme or occasion. Some more types of board content inspo you could share out on socials include:
Aesthetic and mood setting: For overall vibes (home decor, summer)
Planning: Inspo that you can turn into action later (festival fits, bachelorette parties, homecoming, favorite recipes).
Gift lists: Product picks for a specific occasion or individual, or a roundup of the latest must-have items.
Behind-the-scenes: A peek at the creative process behind a red-carpet look, a new product line, a brand collab or an event.
Exclusive access: Insider look at a private party or a cover or campaign shoot.
With all eyes on boards, remember that it also pays to think across the board. You’ll want to make sure to optimize and set your board up for success both on Pinterest and beyond. A rule of thumb: Think descriptive and relevant. That goes for everything from the copy you put in the title and description fields to the Pins you save to that board. Be thoughtful with a strong cover image and add a link back to your website, blog or more to engage and connect with new audiences. Happy board sharing!
